Bruce Lee’s “Jun-Fan” Jeet Kune Do “Way of the Intercepting Fist” (JKD) takes the best the martial arts world has to offer in the area of self-defense and personal protection and combines it all into one simple, easy‐to‐learn, highly‐effective system. Every range of self defense is covered ‐ kicking, kneeing, striking, trapping, joint locks, grappling, blunt (stick) and edged (knife) weapons, and much more.
AMAC JKD is designed to teach you how to defend yourself in a real world situation. It is not a sport‐based system. You will learn to end a confrontation quickly, from any range, using the most effective means possible using intelligent body mechanics and timing. The system’s goal is to teach you to use your body more efficiently not only for self defense but in your everyday life.
This class is also designed to train you, not just teach you, to defend yourself. Through repetition, you will ingrain response so you will be able to act under stress. A student will also develop higher levels of personal discipline, determination, self‐confidence, and focus, all are regularly developed through martial art training. In addition to the many benefits of training, the philosophies that you learn on the mat will translate into everyday life.

AMAC’s Legacy Jeet Kune Do
About Jeet Kune Do
Jeet Kune Do also “Jeet Kun Do”, “Jeet Kuen Do” or simply “JKD” is an eclectic/hybrid system and philosophy of life founded by martial artist Bruce Lee in 1967 with direct, non classical, and straightforward movements. Due to the way his style works, Jeet Kune Do practitioners believe in minimal movement with maximum effect and extreme speed.
The system works on the use of different ‘tools’ for different situations. These situations are broken down into ranges (Kicking, Punching, Trapping, and Grappling), with techniques flowing smoothly between them. It is referred to as a “style without style” or “the art of fighting without fighting” as said by Lee himself.
Unlike more traditional martial arts, Jeet Kune Do is not fixed or patterned and is a philosophy with guiding thoughts. It was named for the concept of interception, or attacking your opponent while he is about to attack. However, the name Jeet Kune Do was often said by Lee to be just a name. He himself often referred to it as “The art of expressing the human body” in his writings and in interviews.
Through his studies, Lee came to believe that styles had become too rigid, and unrealistic. He called martial art competitions of the day “Dry land swimming”. He believed that combat was spontaneous, that a martial artist cannot predict it, only react to it, and that a good martial artist should “Be like water” and move fluidly without hesitation.

The Legacy Jeet Kune Do program at AMAC
We often refer to the JKD program as the University of Martial Arts at our school, it will research other disciplines in search of the most effective principles and techniques that make them effective and then bring them into their class of study in order to better educate and improve the skill of the students.
Jeet Kune Do is the Art and Philosophy of the late Sijo Bruce Lee (Lee Jun Fan). JKD is a system of personal development that Sifu Bruce Lee and his protege’, Guro Dan Inosanto, created and passed on to students around the world. Jun Fan Gung Fu is a name given to the techniques Sifu Lee used in his expression of J.K.D.
