The Combat Submission Wrestling component of our program is a specialized system designed for grappling without a traditional uniform. It emphasizes controlling an opponent using natural body grips rather than relying on sleeves or collars, making it highly effective for real-world self-defense and mixed martial arts (MMA). No-Gi training also incorporates striking awareness, teaching students how to defend against punches while grappling.
Why Train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu & Combat Submission Wrestling?
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) and Submission Wrestling are highly effective systems designed to give smaller, weaker individuals the ability to neutralize and control larger, stronger opponents by utilizing proper body mechanics, leverage, timing, and technique, these disciplines allow practitioners to defend themselves without relying on sheer strength or speed. This makes them ideal for self-defense, especially in unpredictable real-world situations where weight classes don’t exist.
BJJ focuses on taking an opponent to the ground, where striking power and reach are minimized, allowing for the use of techniques such as joint locks, chokes, and positional control. Combat Submission Wrestling, on the other hand, focuses on fast-paced grappling with an emphasis on control, takedowns, and submissions without relying on a Gi.
